I would like to share my sincere gratitude to Bonnie. She is so lovely! I came to observe the Lake District areas, Bonnie made my experience extra special from moment I arrived till the moment I check out. I stayed just 2 nights, but full emotions and energy. I did not even notice how time has flown. When it comes to the room, it is very fabulous, clean and very comfortable. I enjoyed the view from my window when it was drizzlind outside. It was a real place to escape the stress, forget the problems. Breakfast was amazing, staff is very attentive. I defenitely recommend the Holly Lodge. Bonnie once again thank you very much for all. A fantastic guest house, Kirsty is warm & friendly. The room was immaculate as was the en suite & breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice.
Perfect place to stay in the Lakes. Room was so clean, a great size and a nice bathroom too with a lovely shower. The breakfast was brilliant with a good selection and all the staff we spoke to were so friendly and warm. Free parking is available which was a bonus and to top it off access to the pool/sauna/gym just 5 minutes away was a amazing! The communication before and during our stay was great and we knew everything we needed to before we arrived! We would definitely stay again! Thanks for a great stay!
Room 4 is very small with an ensuite. Breakfast was delicious but not big portions. It's enough for a regular person but don't expect massive portions. Staff was above and beyond helpful and really friendly. Location is not the best but booking price reflects it. Has some sort of partnership with a local spa facility which guests can use free of charge. It's only a 5 min drive.
I had the opportunity to stay here a few weeks ago during my trip and I was blown away by the hospitality. The breakfast was great (first time I had a full English breakfast!) and the staff was friendly. I’m very grateful to Kristy who was able to assist me with calling a taxi on my last day when my train got cancelled. Although my stay at Holly Lodge wasn’t long, it was a very memorable as this was my first time visiting England. I hope to have the opportunity to visit Windermere again and stay here.
Me and my partner came for the 13th to the 16th of February and it was brilliant. We were welcomed by the owner, she was really nice. They had a lovely front room for all the guests to enjoy, sadly we didn't get chance to use it. The breakfast menu was absolutely amazing especially the bacon muffins and beans on toast. The breakfast service was amazing the staff made an effort to talk to everyone. Which as someone who works in hospitality is very rare nowadays. Our room was absolutely stunning. The pictures online don't do it justice. The view from the window was amazing. We got to watch it snow aswell which added to the stay. The scenery from the window of the snowy mountains and parts of the village was like it was professional cinematography. We will definitely be back next year or sooner !!
Our room was cosy and the bed very comfortable. The location is perfect, right in town for easy access to restaurants and bars, with plenty of lovely walks nearby or just a short drive away. The only downside was breakfast on the Saturday: my husband’s full English was quite overcooked, and my porridge was more like raw oats in warm milk, not creamy at all. Thankfully, the following morning’s breakfast of crumpets and scrambled eggs was much better, so perhaps just an off day for the chef. Overall, a lovely place to stay, we’d definitely return x
Great hotel, spotlessly clean. Staff were excellent and made time to chat and make sure everything was ok. Would definitely stay again. Lake Windermere is 1.5 miles away which is a 20 minute walk downhill and we got a uber back which cost £6. There are bars and restaurants within 5 minute walk, however if you want more variety your better of going into Late Windermere are, google Albert Pub which is central to all the bars and restaurants.
